Andy Rhodes 1928 Ford Model A
This 1928 Ford Model A was built in Indiana by a commission-based shop around a decade ago. During its creation, Rhodes reached out to the artist in an attempt to buy it, only to discover it was for the shop's client. Around five years later, Rhodes saw the car again for sale by a custom car shop in Columbus, Ohio. After reaching out to the owner, he found out the car had been sold weeks earlier, as the owner hadn't updated the listing.
Years later, after accepting his defeat, Rhodes was scrolling through an online marketplace and saw the car yet again. Skeptical due to the low-quality listing photos that had been up for nearly a year, Rhodes messaged the owner, who offered to video call him. Fueled by his determination, Andy Rhodes was not far from owning this sweet ride. At the time of writing, Mr. Rhodes has had this car for around a month and a half.
This beast sports a Chevy small block 350ci blueprint motor paired with a TH350 automatic transmission. With leaf spring suspension in the front and a mean Viair air suspension in the rear, it’s built for both style and performance. The front wheels are 15” Coker Classics, while the rear features 15” Coker Classics with wild Radair dragster cheater slicks for max grip and style.
Inside, the metal bucket bomber seats shine against the all-steel interior. The roof features a tonneau cover-style leather top that can lift up on shocks or come off entirely. With a sectioned body and a custom Z-style frame, this car has a mean stance that lets the air ride rears sit flat on the ground. Modern amenities include a rear-view camera for added visibility. The cowl steering, custom paint, and extensive fabrication truly showcase how custom this ride is. Hardly anything is left stock, and that’s exactly how it should be!
