Tony DiGiovanni 2016 Audi S6

The German company Audi is renowned for excelling in luxury, performance, and comfort. It is a company that truly understands its customer base and how to make a good car. Above the basic economy lineup of A-series cars is the S-series. These fall below the RS line and R line. Even then, not being their number one in performance, it still blows its competition out of the water.

Vorsprung durch Technik

"Progress through Technology" is the slogan Audi has been using to describe its core values as manufacturers and innovators. Being a company built on cutting-edge technology, excellent performance, and aesthetics, Audi has been around for over a century. In 1909, August Horch founded the company. However, the iconic four-rings logo wasn’t present from the beginning. It was adopted in 1932 when Audi, DKW, Horch, and Wanderer merged to form Auto Union. Eventually, this just became Audi.

The Audi S6 has undergone five generations with many changes along the way. It was first introduced in 1994 as part of the C4 generation, featuring a 2.2L turbocharged inline-5 engine. It produced 227 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. The S6 was available with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic. Like most of Audi’s performance models, it came equipped with the brand’s renowned Quattro AWD technology.

C7 Four-Rings Sport-6

The C7 Audi S6 was a formidable competitor in the high-performance luxury sedan segment, rivaling cars like the Porsche Panamera 4S, BMW M550i, and Mercedes-AMG E53. This generation of the S6, which ran from 2012 to 2019, came with a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 producing 450 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque. This engine provided significantly more power than the V6 in the standard A6, making it a true performance sedan. The car was equipped exclusively with a 7-speed dual-clutch S-Tronic automatic transmission, which allowed for quicker and more responsive shifts.

The suspension technology in the C7 Audi S6 was highly advanced, featuring an adaptive air suspension system. This system provided a comfortable ride for everyday driving but could automatically lower and stiffen for more aggressive and sporty driving modes, enhancing handling and performance. The steering was precise and responsive, though All-Wheel Steering was not available on the C7 S6. However, the Quattro all-wheel-drive system, combined with the adaptive suspension, offered excellent stability and control at both low and high speeds, ensuring a smooth yet dynamic driving experience.

DiGiovanni 4.0T

Tony DiGiovanni has made numerous performance modifications to this mean ride. The factory 4.0T engine has been upgraded with ECS Tuning turbocharger inlets. It has also been fitted with an ARM Motorsports catless downpipe (without catalytic converters). In addition, a CTS Turbo heat exchanger and CTS Turbo diverter valves have been installed. The exhaust note of this pristine car has been enhanced with a Borla exhaust system.

Beast in the Night

"This German sport sedan is likely finished in the OEM Audi Mythos Black Metallic (LY9T). To complement this sinister black, the windows have been tinted down to 20%. But that’s not all for this aggressive machine. It has been fitted with plenty of carbon fiber components, including a carbon fiber front lip, rear diffuser, and a carbon fiber trunk spoiler. Inside, this theme is carried through with carbon fiber paddle shifters behind the steering wheel. This beast sits on 20x10” Ferrada FR4 wheels, finished in a satin-like bronze."
